Background
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Psychology and Pre-Med. My focus was Biopsychology which analyzes how the brain and other aspects of our biology influence our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. I became fascinated with the connection between nutrition and mental health. I quickly learned to look at nutrition holistically, as it affects all aspects of both our physical and mental health. During college I was a research assistant and writer in a lab focused on health and physiology. After graduation I furthered my education and became an Emergency Medical Technician for a number of years. While working on an ambulance and in the emergency room I witnessed many chronic health complications. Although I was grateful to help people, I kept thinking I wish I could help people not end up here. I wanted to pursue a career in preventative medicine. In 2018 I became a writer for a plant-based medical nutrition company. I was blown away by the stories of people going from failing to thriving by changing their diet. This strengthened my belief in the power of plants. I’ve seen first hand how what you eat can change your life. I went on to get certified in plant-based nutrition at eCornell University’s Center for Nutrition Studies. From there I decided I wanted to go back to school to further my education as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) My experiences have taught me so much about the human body and mind, and how nutrition plays a vital role. I love continuing to learn more about what I believe is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves.
Fun facts: I’ve been acting since childhood! My mom was an acting and voice instructor and my dad a music composer. As a child I began acting in commercials and theater. Growing up I studied with an acting coach and competed on a National dance team for 5 years, then went on to complete various advanced acting courses. I’ve appeared in film, TV, commercials, music videos and print. Additionally I was an on-camera and live host. For more visit my acting website.
This started as a place to share my passions and grew into a lifestyle blog dedicated to conscious living. So what does it mean to live consciously? For me, it means consuming more things that feed my body and mind, living a healthy lifestyle and inspiring women to live life outside the ordinary.
A PICTURE IS A STORY WITHOUT WORDS
As a visual storyteller, I enjoy creating vibrant, memorable imagery. I believe creative photography is not looking, it’s feeling. Capturing the humanity of the moment. For me, there is no alternative.
WE LIVE TO CREATE AND CREATE TO LIVE
When I’m not trying new recipes I can be found playing with my baby girl, reading non-fiction, or exploring somewhere tropical (or at least somewhere with a beach!)
